Have infrared underfloor heating installed or do it (partially) yourself?
Thanks to the free "ready-made custom service," the infrared underfloor heating is an easy-to-install underfloor heating system. This means that the heating film strips are custom-made for you with the correct length of wiring, based on a provided layout plan.
You can carry out the installation in 3 ways. See the options below.
1. Install everything yourself (most economical)
2. Partially install yourself and partially by the installer
3. Have everything installed by the installer
1. Install everything yourself (most economical)
If you decide to install the infrared underfloor heating yourself, it's a matter of:
✓ Place subfloor
✓ Place custom-made heating film strips according to the layout plan
✓ Cut out wiring in the subfloor
✓ Place floor sensor
✓ Connect built-in or surface-mounted thermostat
✓ Connect underfloor heating to a separate circuit in the meter cupboard (if necessary)
✓ Install an extra circuit in the meter cupboard (if necessary)
If you have no experience with electricity, we advise you to have the thermostat connected by an electrician or to choose option 2 Partially install yourself and partially by the installer.
Naturally, an installation manual is included with the underfloor heating package.
2. Partially yourself and partially by the installer
If you are not very handy but want to do as much as possible yourself, this is a good option.
Yourself:
You do the first part of the installation yourself, such as:
✓ Place subfloor
✓ Place heating film strips according to the layout plan
✓ Cut out wiring in the subfloor
✓ You prepare the wiring for the installer
Naturally, an installation manual is included with the underfloor heating package.
Installer:
The installer will visit you to complete the remaining work.
This includes:
✓ Place floor sensor
✓ Connect built-in or surface-mounted thermostat
✓ Connect underfloor heating to a separate circuit in the meter cupboard (if necessary)
✓ Install an extra circuit in the meter cupboard (if necessary)
Please note: If you want the wiring concealed in the wall (built-in), you or the plasterer must close the trench in the wall. The installer will not do this for you.
3. Have everything installed by the installer
In this case, the installer will install the underfloor heating for you from start to finish.
This includes:
✓ Place subfloor
✓ Place heating film strips according to the layout plan
✓ Cut out wiring in the subfloor
✓ Place floor sensor
✓ Connect built-in or surface-mounted thermostat
✓ Connect underfloor heating to a separate circuit in the meter cupboard (if necessary)
✓ Install an extra circuit in the meter cupboard (if necessary)
Please note: If you want the wiring concealed in the wall (built-in), you or the plasterer must close the trench in the wall. The installer will not do this for you.
The installation is done by a partner of Carbon Heating. Carbon Heating can put you in contact with the installer.
The installer does not lay floors!
